Botox is a prescription medicine that is injected into specific muscles of the face to resolve issues such as facial wrinkles. Botox can also help re-define the jaw and neck contour by relaxing specific muscles in those areas. It is also very useful to relax and reduce the crows feet lines around the eyes.
Botox boasts many celebrity fans and has been used in cosmetics for over 15 years. It offers great results when used alone or when combined with other treatments such as dermal fillers and skin resurfacing.

How does it work?
- Botox is one of the most researched medicines and is used on a daily basis by nearly all aesthetic doctors and nurse prescribers. The aesthetic doctor will assess the size of the small facial muscles, as this can vary with each individual, and discuss what you want to achieve.
- The Botox is then mixed and diluted to the appropriate concentration and only a small quantity is inserted into the muscle. It takes about 2 to 4 days to start to take effect and about a week to completely settle.
- It is extremely safe and does not carry any harmful side effects. The muscle relaxing effects last approximately 6 months.
